Such lovely understanding wears a coat
deceptive definition at it’s best
as slowly comprehending this I note
and deeper understanding I digest
sweet sing-song melodies that trip the tongue
I now find leave an awful after-taste
a bitter bubble bursts ‘ere blow begun
and understand a wordy wicked waste
deep disillusion dots rose cheeks like dew
upon a bloom that wilts within a vase
it’s life cut short to pleasure slanted view
sighs dry the tears upon one petaled face
understanding doesn’t seem so grand
