How difficult is it to learn embroidery with an embroidery machine?
And how exactly does it work? I think I’d want one with a USB drive so I can use patterns from the internet, is that right? Do you just choose a design and the machine will embroider it on the shirt, etc.? That sounds like it would be too easy, and I’m sure that there are more steps that that. Could someone please explain them to me?

It’s a little more involved than that, but not much! 
I’ve been doing machine embroidery for a little over 15 years now. It’s actually very easy to learn if you read the users manual that comes with your machine. First, you hoop the fabric you want to embroider, place the hoop on the machine, choose the thread color you’ll be using first, and put it on the machine, send the design from your computer to the machine, then push the start button on your embroidery machine. It will sew the first color of the design, and stop. You put the next color of thread on you want to use, and push the start button again, and so on until the design is finished. Simple as that! Fair warning, you may become addicted to machine embroidery!!
