Ideal of whale meat in a lunch box?
Can anyone tell me more infomation on the ‘lunch box’ system in Japnese school?
When did the whale meat appear in the lunch box at school?
Is whale meat good? What does it taste like? Why is it so important if Japnese can’t eat whale meat anymore?
Is is a celebration food or you can eat it daily?
Do students have no choice to choose from whether they want it or not?
Is parents or elders support the view of eating whale meat?
Any data, graph. Anything about whale meat if possible. Please help me answer these questions, I really need your help~~ Thank you so much.
I don’t understand why Australians are freaking out that whale meat is found in lunchboxes. It’s meat, just like bacon, pork, chicken and fish. I’m sure that there are kids who like whale meat (it’s just that the Australian media likes hinting that these kids are being force fed, eating whale meat is an “immoral” or “bad” thing, or that it’ll provide supporting arguments for Japan).
If these kids didn’t want to eat whale meat, they can always throw it away, or ask their parents to prepare something else for them. Whale meat isn’t cheap, so I doubt many parents would be spending lots of money and effort trying to shove it down their kids’ throats.
I haven’t had whale meat before, but according to the Korean drama “Dae Jang Geum” that I’m watching at the moment, it tastes a bit like beef.
The consumption of whale meat in Japan is slowly declining over the years, but this is not a rational argument to use to impose the banning of all whaling (which there is absolutely no need for, if the whale populations continue to increase).
